The concept for VENTURES has evolved over the last few years in response to the constant evolution and demand of the international art market.
With a visible gap between the current social classes reflected by the status of the global economy it is only natural that the gallery system we have grown accustomed to would also be affected.
Studies show a vast difference in the number of international “intermediate/established artists” represented by prominent (blue chip) galleries in comparison to the number of new “emerging artists” producing exhibition in an attempt to get discovered by a wealthy collector or a large conglomerate.
Due to the difference in price points between these two categories of creatives we tend to stereotype “emerging artists” as struggling or unorganised. In fact most of the actively engaged artists invest large amount of funds in creating their works and planning these events.
This raises the question: How do artists/galleries make it in the art world today?
